Bad Things Always Come In Threes…

As a thief, I'm good at three things: hiding in the shadows, getting in and out unseen, and uncovering secrets. I put these skills to work for the Sinclair Family, one of the magical mobs that run the tourist town of Cloudburst Falls.

Everyone knows Victor Draconi wants to take over all the other Families--and kill every last Sinclair. What they don't know is that I'm on to him, and no way will I let the man who murdered my mom get away with hurting all the other people I care about. Especially when I've got places to break into, stuff to steal, and Devon Sinclair fighting right by my side…

"An adventurous ride you will never want to get off." --#1 New York Times bestselling author Jennifer L. Armentrout on Cold Burn of Magic

Bright Blaze of Magic...

I always see people say in reviews that they have a hard time writing reviews for those books that they just LOVE. Now, I get it. Completely. I don't even know what to say, where to begin. So, I will just rave for a few minutes, and then go back and read the series. Again.

From the first chapter of the first book, I knew this series was going to be an all-time favorite. Boy, was I right. I loved Cold Burn of Magic and Dark Heart of Magic so much. I will admit that I was nervous about reading this final book. You know what happens, with these final books. You love an entire series so much, and get so excited about reading that last one. Then the unthinkable happens. It is nothing but a big disappointment. So, nervous was I. In this instance, that couldn't be further from the truth.

From the first book, I have fallen more and more in love with these amazing characters. They are seriously some of my favorite characters, ever. Lila, Devon, Felix, Deah, Poppy, Claudia, Mo. I love these characters hard. They each bring something completely themselves to the table, and the books wouldn't be even close to the same without a single one of them. The characters growth was a beautiful thing to read. The family relationships, the romances, the friendships brought something amazing to this series, and I will gladly read it over and over to experience it again.

In this final book, Victor Draconi's plot to take down the other families makes itself known. And it is heartbreaking. Jennifer Estep doesn't shy away from killing characters off, and boy she does it hardcore. But it was necessary to bring the resolve, the strength to the main players. To give them something MORE to fight for. Justice can mean everything. The final play in this final book is one for the records.

Heart-pounding, fear-inducing, and seat of your pants fast, I was breathless throughout the whole book. From the relationships to the fight scenes, to the shocking revelations, and the tender moments, I was in this book with my whole heart.

If you are looking for a fantastic, magical adventure with all of the feels, and the shippiest of romances, DON'T HESITATE to reach for the Black Blade trilogy. I wish I could put a stamp on the cover that says "100% Jaime Approved" (which would mean nothing to no one, but it would make me feel better!)

(Stinky Side Note: I asked Jennifer Estep, author Extraordinaire, if she has any plans to revisit this world.... and she said no. Sigh... Guess I will have to go back for rereads to satiate myself!)
