Alexis Wyndham is the other type of Queen B—the Queen Bitch.

After years of being the subject of ridicule, she revels in her ability to make the in-crowd cower via the exposés on her blog, The Eastline Spy. Now that she's carved out her place in the high school hierarchy, she uses her position to help the unpopular kids walking the hallways.

Saving a freshman from bullies? Check.
Swapping insults with the head cheerleader? Check.
Falling for the star quarterback? So not a part of her plan.

But when Brett offers to help her solve the mystery of who’s posting X-rated videos from the girls’ locker room, she’ll have to swallow her pride and learn to see past the high school stereotypes she’s never questioned—until now.

And the verdict is...

I wasn't so sure about this one, but heck! With a title like this one, how could I possibly not give it a shot! While it may not be a deep and thought-provoking story, it sure is fun and I was ready for book 2 as soon as I finished the final page!

Queen B Alexis takes no prisoners. She is the advocate for the bullied, the outer of wrongs. If you do something against the rules, or just something stupid and are dumb enough to get caught, Alexis will out you. Her blog, The Eastline Spy, was created her freshman year after her former bff/newly crowned popular girl, shattered her trust and Alexis decided to protect others like herself. And she is not afraid to out the most popular of the school, or even the faculty. Because of this, she is very isolated, with the exception of her 2 best friends. Then, in health class one day, the newest assignment is a baby! And partnering up is not a choice. She is partnered with Brett Pederson, most popular boy, QB, and the boy who Summer has her claws in. Uneasy at first, especially when Brett proves he isn't afraid of her, Alexis fights him at every turn. Slowly, however, she realizes they may have more in common than she thought. Is she willing to take the chance of ruining her Queen B status? Or will she run from the boy who has finally cracked her shell?

While the budding friendship between Alexis and Brett is the main focus of the story, there is a sub-plot that kept things interesting, especially towards the end. Someone has hidden a camera in the girls locker room, and has aired videos of the girls (including Lexi's popular cheerleader sister Taylor) on YouTube. Alexis is determined to find the culprit and make him pay, and Brett decides to help her. They learn some interesting things, about the cameraman, and each other along the way.

I truly adored this one. It is crude, there is lots of sex talk, language. Confessions is definitely not appropriate for younger teens, or anyone who is offended by these things. Normally, I am not a fan of them myself. But Crista managed to write a book that had me turning pages, and laughing out loud, while rooting for a hard to love, very misunderstood teenage girl and an almost too-good-to-be-true boy to finally just kiss already! Then she had the nerve to end it like THAT?! It might not be the most well written story ever, and there may not be huge life lessons to learn, but it is still a special book. And the lesson that is in it, while hidden under lots of humor, is still a lesson that every girl, woman, man and child should learn!

Books like this one normally don't catch my attention and keep it, but there are certain ones that I can't help but love. And this is definitely one of them. I absolutely cannot wait for he sequel! What will happen between Brett and Lexi next? Will Summer finally catch the perfect guy? And what case will the Queen B have to close and cover for The Eastline Spy next? I guess we will have to wait and see. Just, maybe don't make us wait too long, Crista?!

About the Author...

Growing up in small town Alabama, Crista relied on story-telling as a natural way for her to pass the time and keep her two younger sisters entertained.

She currently lives in the Audi-filled suburbs of Seattle with her husband and two children, maintaining her alter ego of mild-mannered physician by day while she continues to pursue writing on nights and weekends.

Just for laughs, here are some of the jobs she’s had in the past to pay the bills: barista, bartender, sommelier, stagehand, actress, morgue attendant, and autopsy assistant.

And she’s also a recovering LARPer. (She blames it on her crazy college days)
