Once upon a dark time…

Greta the human bounty hunter never quite fit into the shadowed, icy world of Mylena. Yet she's managed to defeat the demon Agramon and win the love of the darkly intense Goblin King, Isaac. Now Isaac wants her to rule by his side—a human queen. And the very announcement is enough to incite rebellion…

To make matters worse, defeating Agramon left Greta tainted with a dark magick. Its unclean power threatens to destroy her and everything she loves. With the Goblin King's life and the very peace of Mylena at stake, Greta must find a cure and fast.

Her only hope lies with the strange, elusive faeries in the Glass Kingdom…if she can get there before the evil within her destroys everything.

My Thoughts

I read Greta and the Goblin King just a couple of weeks ago, and I absolutely loved it. It was full of emotion, passion, romance, adventure, magic. I had a feeling that I would like it, but I had no idea just how much. I read it in a couple of hours. Just couldn't put it down! I wanted Glass Kingdom in my hands, immediately after reading Goblin King. Thankfully, I am a part of this wonderful tour, so I didn't have to wait too long!

Glass Kingdom starts off right after the events at the end of Goblin King. Greta is struggling with this dark magick inside of her, and it is posing a serious threat to Isaac. She knows she has to figure out some way to get rid of it, but there are more pressing matters at first. Like her being presented as the future Goblin Queen of Mylena, for one! Unfortunately, that becomes the least of her concerns, and Greta and gang find themselves on a mission. A mission for allies, for a way to release her from the magick, and finding a ragtag bunch of human children, lost in the Mylean wilderness.

This sequel is one of those sequels that live up to the first books awesomeness in every way, and somehow even surpasses it. There is no short of adventures, fighting for lives, and heartbreak along the way. The characters we came to love are still here, and each has managed to grow as a person. We meet some new characters in this story, some good and some bad. It is hard to tell immediately whether you can trust them or not, and trust becomes hard to give to even those characters you have fallen in love with. The pacing of this story is perfection, and the writing has such a wonderful flow.

Greta has grown from the last book, and throughout this sequel she continues to grow, to morph and to change. She has been dealing with so much since she first arrived in Mylena, but finally having opened herself up to loving and caring for it's people also causes her no short of heartache. Yet, it has made her a better, stronger, braver person. Siona has a much larger role in this one, and I truly enjoyed getting to know her, even when I might not have liked her at certain points in the story. Her and Greta's relationship has grown, and I loved their scenes together. Wyatt is back, and he has grown a thicker skin. He has changed a lot from the first book, and I truly enjoyed his character. And Isaac, how I love Isaac. I can't say too much about this important player, but I will say this. I had HOPE, the whole way through. He is such a great Goblin King! Each player in this story is multi-faceted, and they each stand out in their own ways.

All in all, this series is quickly turning into a favorite. It is a special series, and it has captured my heart. There is a certain scene on a bridge, with a monster and his pet, and a song, that might easily be a favorite. But there are so many favorite parts of this story! And what an ENDING! What a middle! I cannot wait to see what Chloe Jacobs has in store for these amazing characters in the next book. And I hope that next book gets here soon! I would absolutely recommend this series to any teenager, and tell every adult to give it a chance. I am 32 years old, and I have fallen in love with this amazingly talented writer, and the world and characters she obviously loves so very much!

Thank you to Chloe Jacobs and YA Bound for allowing me the chance to read this book, and be a part of the tour!

About the Author

Chloe Jacobs is a native of nowhere and everywhere, having jumped around to practically every Province of Canada before finally settling in Ontario where she has now been living for a respectable number of years. Her husband and son are the two best people in the entire world, but they also make her wish she'd at least gotten a female cat. No such luck. And although the day job keeps her busy, she carves out as much time as possible to write.
Bringing new characters to life and finding out what makes them tick and how badly she can make them suffer is one of her greatest pleasures, almost better than chocolate and fuzzy pink bunny slippers.
