Summary taken from Goodreads:

Before Peter Pan belonged to Wendy, he belonged to the girl with the crow feather in her hair. . . .

Fifteen-year-old Tiger Lily doesn't believe in love stories or happy endings. Then she meets the alluring teenage Peter Pan in the forbidden woods of Neverland and immediately falls under his spell.

Peter is unlike anyone she's ever known. Impetuous and brave, he both scares and enthralls her. As the leader of the Lost Boys, the most fearsome of Neverland's inhabitants, Peter is an unthinkable match for Tiger Lily. Soon, she is risking everything—her family, her future—to be with him. When she is faced with marriage to a terrible man in her own tribe, she must choose between the life she's always known and running away to an uncertain future with Peter.

With enemies threatening to tear them apart, the lovers seem doomed. But it's the arrival of Wendy Darling, an English girl who's everything Tiger Lily is not, that leads Tiger Lily to discover that the most dangerous enemies can live inside even the most loyal and loving heart.

From the New York Times bestselling author of Peaches comes a magical and bewitching story of the romance between a fearless heroine and the boy who wouldn't grow up.

The Cover: I love this cover.  I have been seeing other, non-tiger lily covers floating around and I really hope this beautiful bright orange cover is the final one.  It is so different than what is out there and will absolutely stand out against everything else on the shelves.

The Characters:I loved that the narrative was told from Tinker Bell's perspective.  How incredibly creative!  Tiger Lily, Peter Pan, and Wendy are characters that we have grown to love since our childhood. In Tiger Lily, though, we are given a slightly flawed (and altogether un-Disney) view of these beloved characters.  Tiger Lily comes across as mysterious, cold, and a little magical.  Peter Pan is flat our scary (and not someone you want left alone with), and Wendy is incredibly self-absorbed.  I loved it!   The author took characters we know and reinvented them while remaining true to the essence of who they are.  What happens to Peter when he is trapped in Neverland for a very long time without civilization?  I will say, though, that one character broke my heart and made me want to jump in the book and rip him away- Baby.  Ugh. I have to stop thinking about it now.

The Story:  This story is unlike anything that is out for YA readers right now.  I mean that.  Yes, it is a take on a story that everyone knows.  But Jodi Lynn Anderson takes everything we know about Peter Pan and twists it up to make something completely new. From what I understand reading the book, Neverland is a very remote island.  Captain Hook and Mr. Smee(who is fouler than his captain- not a chubby fellow with cherry cheeks and a happy disposition) visit England regularly.  There is constant talk of travel between the island and England.  I don't want to get too into detail about that- the best part of the story is rediscovering Peter Pan for yourself.  If you are a fan of Peter Pan, fairy tales, or simply a book you will remember for years to come- pick up Tiger Lily when it comes out.  You won't regret it.
