Summary taken from Goodreads:

In 1904 Texas Ranger Luke Palmer arrives in Brenham, Texas, with one goal—to capture the gang of outlaws led by Frank Comer. Undercover as a telephone repairman, he uses his days on the range to search, not realizing there's another pair of eyes watching him.
Georgie Gail, switchboard operator and birder, heads out on a birding expedition, but instead of sighting a painted bunting, her opera glasses capture her telephone man, armed and far away from telephone lines. Palmer is forced to take this alluring troublemaker into his confidence and unwittingly puts her in harm's way. The closer he comes to the gang, the further she works her way into his heart—and into trouble. Soon it's more than just love that's on the line.

Like all of the author's other books, this book was incredibly satisfying.  Deanne Gist has a beautiful way of creating characters that are likable, full of passion and fun adventures.  I love that she takes interesting storylines that haven't been written about before to create her stories.  When I read a book by this author, I don't feel like I have read the storyline 20 times before (which can happen in historical fiction.)
Some have issues with the author's works- saying that they are too steamy for Christian fiction.  I can't say I agree.  There is nothing wrong with being attracted to someone else (now if you are married and attracted to someone else, that is a WHOLE other ball game).  I find this author's works MORE believable than characters that seem to have no feelings other than wholesome goodness 24/7.

If you are a fan of Historical Literature with a touch of Christianity (and I mean just a touch)- then you would like Love on the Line.
