Waiting on Wednesday
Waiting on Wednesday is a meme hosted by Breaking the Spine. I love this meme- it gives me a chance to show off what I am waiting for! Also, it is a chance to discover new books coming out in the next year.
I should have posted this one a long time ago- I am not sure why I haven't. I cannot wait for The Faerie Ring by Kiki Hamilton!
The year is 1871, and Tiki has been making a home for herself and her family of orphans in a deserted hideaway adjoining Charing Cross Station in central London. Their only means of survival is by picking pockets. One December night, Tiki steals a ring, and sets off a chain of events that could lead to all-out war with the Fey. For the ring belongs to Queen Victoria, and it binds the rulers of England and the realm of Faerie to peace. With the ring missing, a rebel group of faeries hopes to break the treaty with dark magic and blood—Tiki’s blood.
Unbeknownst to Tiki, she is being watched—and protected—by Rieker, a fellow thief who suspects she is involved in the disappearance of the ring. Rieker has secrets of his own, and Tiki is not all that she appears to be. Her very existence haunts Prince Leopold, the Queen’s son, who is driven to know more about the mysterious mark that encircles her wrist.
Prince, pauper, and thief—all must work together to secure the treaty… (Taken from Goodreads.com)
Besides the fact that this book looks awesome and the cover looks fantastic, the author herself seems like a wonderful person. She was kind enough to send me some signed swag to share with my followers (when I get to 50 followers). The Faerie Ring is the first novel in a series of three about the heroine Tiki. From what I have been reading online, the book has been given fantastic reviews!
I can't wait until September 27th!
You can check out Kiki's site here. Then, go pre-order The Faerie Ring at Amazon and add it to your Goodreads list!
If you just can't wait for The Faerie Ring- you can make your way over to Night of the Giving Dead Auctions where an ARC of The Faerie Ring is being auctioned off (as well as a whole load of other great YA fiction and ARCs)... so what are you waiting for?
